1924 marked the inaugural Thanksgiving Parade in Detroit, kicking off a yearly extravaganza filled with floats, characters in costume, and of course….music!
I was first tapped by The Parade Company in 1992 and they asked me to write an original song for the opening ceremony. I contacted singers Thornetta Davis and Bobby Alcott to sing my composition titled “It’s A Parade”.
Over the years I was fortunate to be called upon to write more music, collaborating with singers like Lisa Fischer, Maurissa Rose, Cassaundra Fitch, and the great kids at the Detroit Academy for Arts and Sciences.
Wishing you and yours a happy Thanksgiving. Gobble gobble!
