In this final chapter, we were up and close to the King. The lions seemed comfortable resting next to our vehicles, unbothered by our presence. Thank goodness they weren’t that hungry, and thank goodness for our guides.
The Kalahari desert is mostly arid flatland, spreading across the three countries of Botswana, Namibia, and South Africa.

Animals of all shapes and sizes…and even some standing on their hind legs like little people. We were all amused and smitten by the meerkats. Have you ever seen these critters?
