In my 50 plus years of running a business I never underestimated the value of a talented work force. I’m talking about an administrative staff that’s relentless in supporting their company wide goals …those team players who willingly work overtime when necessary….

A belief in that old adage…one for all and all for one.

That’s Laura Wooley. She came knocking on my door for a secretarial position 35 years ago.

She presented me with excellent credentials but none related to our music business.

But something about her told me she would be good.

She started in by answering the phones ( during the years when we didn’t have iPhones)….greeting our clients…taking notes and writing letters.

And then…asking questions of the staff as she wanted to learn more about the inner workings of our company.

Over time and 35 years later Laura worked her way up to Business Manager, handling our financials, corresponding with a work staff of 30 employees and hundreds of freelance composers….always looking for opportunities…working with health agencies, financial brokers along with singers and musicians unions.

An extraordinary gate keeper… she never discussed personal information or politics with anyone inside or outside our facility.

Honestly I don’t know of anyone who could handle so much considering we are an international enterprise.

Congratulations Laura…yes indeed…you are one in a million…
