Life is often stranger than fiction. People ask me If my stories are fictitious. I assure you, they are all 100% true.
My band and I used to play all sorts of gigs back in the days; Weddings, Bar-Mitzvahs, and various dinners. We were often the band of choice, as we played a variety of music from Pop, to Rock and Roll, and Jazz.
On one occasion during the late 70s at a high school prom, we had an unexpected featured guest make an appearance. We couldn’t believe our eyes as Bob Hope emerged onto the stage as we played his famous song, “Thanks For The Memories.”
At the end of the night I made my way to a payphone and called my wife to tell her what had happened, but I’m not sure she believed me. I don’t blame her, I wouldn’t have either.
