Some four years ago I wrote down my thoughts about how the events of 1915 would be interpreted through the music I had written, titled “An Armenian Trilogy”.
I’d envisioned times of peace leading to events of turmoil and tragedy, followed by the Armenian instinct for survival…which would culminate into three movements of classical music.
The work was first debuted as a duet of piano and violin, which sparked my ambition to expand the arrangement to a 90-piece orchestra. In 2017 I found myself in Yerevan, Armenia; watching the Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra perform!
I’m determined to advance this composition to other formats and arrangements. We need to hear the message that we are fragile, and that everything can stripped away at
the blink of an eye.
