What’s in a name?
I’ve been asked why Armenian surnames all seem to end in “-ian” or “-yan”…Did you know that is actually a suffix, meaning “of”?
It can mean “son of”, “descendant of”, or it could indicate a geographic origin, and it could even be a an occupation.
A few years ago we put together this fun parody of “Let’s Call The Whole Thing Off” and titled it “The Armenian Name Game”.
